WIIFM – students’ perspective
“What’s in it for me?” is a question I try to ask myself when I’m teaching often. Every student has different motivations, so it is challenging to address everyone’s want/needs. I have brainstormed a list below of some useful WIIFM considerations from a student perspective.
– How will this help me in my job?
– How will this help me in my art/creation?
– How will this help my mental health?
– How will this save me time?
– How will this make things easier for me?
– How this will help prepare me for a higher level of achievement (ex. scaffolding in course)?
– How can I make money from this?
– When can I use this in the future?
