A visual to help calm learners
I chose to create an infographic of the capstone process for our post-graduate students. Students begin work toward their final capstone project in their third semester – and usually by then there are many preconceived notions and ideas about what the big pass/fail project may involve. What I really want to do is to empower students by showing them – graphically how we break down this massive project – but more importantly, by highlighting how much control they have in the process – from defining the topic through to delivering a final project (and the form that may take).
I do like the concept and feel of infographics. They do take a long time to think through and to create, but this was an enjoyable task. I used Canva for this project and tried to use colours to show the various stages within the capstone journey.
