I watched a very powerful TedTalk called “Every kid needs a champion” by Rita F. Pierson. In her talk she emphasized the importance of human relationships and how making connections with kids can have an incredible impact on their lives. “Kids don’t learn from people they don’t like” was a key quote I will remember always because I know it to be true. Teachers I didn’t like, I didn’t listen to or learn from. Those whom I did like, I remember to this day and value them and the work they continue to do.

Taking notes this way was an interesting experience. I enjoy separating the key points from the notes, and having a space to go back to review and summarize the message was a really great opportunity to learn from. This is a great visual way to take notes and I may continue to use this method going forward.
