Course Introduction & Tip for Success
For this activity, I wanted to provide a one page overview of the main course I teach and some quick tips for success in an online learning course. I teach an introduction Communications course that is required for all diploma programs, so it is sometimes hard to capture the student’s attention as it is not a part of their ‘regular’ program courses. I have created infographics before, but with this one, I tried the ‘less is more’ approach. I often find I try to add too much text to infographics which make it a less successful mode to transmit the content. The goal of this infographic was to create an easy to read one page overview of the assignments in the course. The college I work at uses a standardized instructional plan template that can sometimes be overwhelming for students, so hopefully this infographic will help ease students into the course.
I hope to add this infographic to my course’s learning management system page and also to send out to students ahead of the official course start date.
