The concepts I chose to consider was that of developing an information system that meets the needs of its users. Often we encounter systems that miss the mark in terms of solving the customer/users’ original problem, or not providing the solution that was expected. In terms of a visual representation, the first thing that comes to mind is that of poor or unsuitable design; for example, designing a square peg which was meant to be round (to fit in the round hole!). Customers expect a round peg, but instead developers deliver a square peg which doesn’t solve the problem of plugging the round hole. I searched several of the sites provided in the description of this activity, however I found it was a challenge to find the “right” image. In the end, I found a suitable image using the Creative Commons Search.
