I created this empathy map using feedback I get from my students. I ask them for anonymous feedback about six weeks into the course using the “Stop, Start, Continue” format. This provides me with good ideas on how to make improvements during the course as well as for future courses. I also get feedback at the end of the course through my college’s standardized student feedback surveys, so this is very helpful as well.  During a team meeting I was able to discuss these concerns with my colleagues and get input from them as well. The empathy map can be applied to individual courses as well as to entire program. Very helpful to have the visual and to categorize the students concerns into the four categories: Think and Feel, Say and Do, See, Hear.
