When I looked at Canva.com I could not find any infographic templates which had music themes so I used an image I found on Unsplash.com and improvised from there. I did some preliminary research and found an article to reference from online. This was the second image I chose, at first I used a different image but the colours made it more difficult to read the information I put on top. I then copy and pasted all the information I had gathered from the first image and transferred it to the second. At the end, I added the website at the bottom as a way of sourcing the information I had included.

This was a surprisingly challenging exercise because it was difficult to find what I wanted to represent, and how – since there are so many different ways of creating an infographic. I chose to represent a message about the Toronto music scene and the impact on venues and therefor the community of artists within it. As a musician, this is something that impacts me and everyone who performs within the local scene. Right now there are some online opportunities to perform, but it is not the same as performing live, and it will take the industry several years to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
