The students who own a Mac save their document in pages and when they submit it to the assignment folder in D2L the faculty are not able to open it to mark. In the Saturday session we decided to work on this module together and decided teaching the students how to use the office suite provided to the students for free would solve the issue as the students could then upload and download the document in word.
