Learning using case analysis pedagogy

In my first teaching iteration using this pedagogy I asked students to structure their case analysis in a format that was meaningful to them. I wanted students to be creative (i.e. using mind maps etc.). In most cases, students/groups were able to summarize and analyze the case details but unable to contextualize their analysis. They often reached the obvious solution without considering the not so obvious alternatives. So I re-imagined how I might provide the analytical guidance they needed to consider the case in the context of the module learning outcomes.
