The skill to observe and document in a clinical format is an essential skill in the field of counselling.  The expert blind spot often is that we take for granted all the small skills involved in being able to do this in a objective, factual and nonbiased manner.  I continue to look for ways to engage the students to see the value in repetitively doing it as well as gain practice to enhance this skill.
