I read through patch thirty-five and part that resonated with me was: “But no matter how many angles you try to anticipate, something will surprise you when you implement it.” As a read though the example in the article, I thought “Yup, been there”, when a lesson or activity doesn’t resonate with a group. So I created a gif of my goofy hound, Ernie, to demonstrate the initial (intense) feelings and thoughts associated with these moments for me: panic, fear, “what now?”, etc. After those initial reactions subside and critical thinking kicks in, I usually manage to use some creativity, humour, and humility to try a different approach.
