Using technology to provide a real-world forum for an academic paper
Context: As indicated in the response (highlighted in yellow in the image and with the cursor identifying it), learners have an assignment to write a research or process paper that is met with low levels of interest or excitement.
Problem: The assignment is used as a means to evaluate learners’ understanding of basic paragraph structure, research skills, and APA formatting. Learners are often unclear as to how this applies to business communications, which is the focus for the course.
Challenge: How can I, through technology, provide a more applicable real-world tone and approach to this assignment so that it is not viewed solely as an academic task?
