Watering the Plants
Teaching and Learning for me is like watering the plants. Similar to how plants grow, to me, as instructors our role is to nurture the students and help them achieve their goals and dreams. Our job is to teach and help them pass the course, not be roadblocks or judge, jury, and executioner. Furthermore, students are like plants, there are different variety and types. Some plants need very little water, and some require waterfalls. This means that some students require more attention than others depending on their circumstances and needs. Like taking care of plants, teaching is hard work and require dedication, routine, and patience. As for student learning, like plants, it the right amount of water is provided, they will bloom. Meaning, if the students is guided in a way that fits their learning style they will succeed in the course.
