WIIFM
I teach Behavioural Psychology, specifically a Community-Based Service Delivery course. When contemplating the question, “What’s in it for me?” from the students’ standpoint, they consistently express a genuine appreciation for comprehending how the knowledge and skills they acquire in this course will directly apply to their practical experiences within the community. In the classroom, I consistently underscore this vital link between their learning and their ability to excel during their placements, intending to boost their motivation. Students are driven by their desire to perform exceptionally during their placements and present themselves as professionals with the requisite knowledge and skills expected by their agency supervisors.
