“Mentoring doesn’t just end when the course is over. However, we can only hope that our learning facilitators find their ruby slippers and realize that the power ultimately resides within themself“.  How much do I love this line of the article!

Nuggets or “pearls” are very important pieces of my teaching.  I share, I borrow and I tell students that they ‘can use this line, or you can say this”.  Being a mentor is so important to me.  In nursing we have a phrase – “Nurses eat their young”.  It is so true – we need to cultivate and develop – not punish.  Grow what people already have and what they want.  Knowing what their goals are.  Helping not harming.  More flies with honey.  All of those things.  I am going to read more of these posts – thank you for sharing this with me – https://openfacultypatchbook.org/
