Patch 18 – Group Work

- Be clear that group work is the best method – Mimics practice setting within healthcare of multi-disciplinary team.
- Creating a class charter – This is not done but workplace expectations is given.
- Each group develop their own charter – This is optional as it gives the groups autonomy.
- Regular check-ins – Done formally with assessments and informally via conversations and discussions.
- Give some class or seminar time to work – The course constitutes of 50% work sessions.
- Resolve conflict – Students are expected to attempt resolution first then if not successful seek out Faculty.
- Provide specific feedback to the group – The rubric has this plus there is peer-to-peer feedback.
- Sense of humor – Students are encouraged to share and celebrate their joys/downs within and with larger group.
