The difference between Energy and Power is often misunderstood.  I find it useful to describe Energy as an amount, or “bucket” of Joules.   Power is the rate of energy transferred.  The analogy is extended by describing power as pouring the bucket out over time.  If one Joule of Energy is transferred in one Second of Time, this is one Watt of Power.
