Since one of the courses, I teach is history, students normally find it lecture heavy and non-interactive. It is probably one of the courses that makes you imagine the traditional classroom whenever you think about it. With that said, I believe that by making use of Padlet, I can make the classroom experience less monotonous and be more interactive. I can easily make assessments that would make use of Padlet like requiring students to roam around the city and take a selfie on a whatever landmark/artifact/historical location they can find and post it on a Padlet along with a brief description on what caught their attention or made them take the selfie, in this way that other students can weigh in on their post. Other than that, the Padlet can also be used like a freedom wall for students to voice out anonymously on what they currently feel or what they are having a hard time to follow. This means that it can also help me improve my craft as a professor and address my student’s concern. All in all, I believe that a technological tool such as the Padlet could help a course like history be more interactive, fun, and engaging for students.
