Patch Nine: shifting the design of assessments sends a powerful article about student-directed learning… As someone who has been in school for twenty years, I know I speak for more than myself when I say that I do not remember or value the content of my classes as much as I do the learning moments that I experienced while connecting with people! The random conversations, the tears, the criticisms, the setbacks…  So I think it’s also relevant for those working in student support. By informing students with choices, rather than giving advice, students feel capable and empowered. Journeys of learning and self-discovery are all unique and there is no one prescription for success! Learning Goals are an awesome example of this type of activity, and, they are outlined in the youtube video I shared in the link!
