Choice: PATCH THIRTY TWO – IS EVERYONE AN INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER?
Nuggets: This patch reminds me of my experience as an instructional designer (and a content writer). I started with researching and writing lessons for various grades, where I also needed to design my lessons, choose images to use, write video scripts, and design the layout of the page. Later, I shifted mainly to designing lesson pages. I built lesson content in a CMS and assessments in an LMS. I questioned the value of what I was doing because it seemed repetitive and not challenging enough. Reflecting on the experience, I am now able to envision multimodality when designing my course content and learning resources. The questions that hovered over my head were finally answered. With the experience of creating and designing courses, I now have the vision to create meaningful and inclusive learning for my students.
