PATCH THIRTY-SEVEN – ON THE ROAD AGAIN By Joseph M. Murphy

I chose this passage as it jumped out at me almost immediately, personally this year has been exactly what the passage is about “leaving your comfort zone”, I’ve embarked on this journey myself so lots of experiences the author was sharing really resonated with me.

Sticking to what’s familiar, can be comforting, but it often limits our experiences and learning opportunities. I recently became a part-time professor with SLC and if I hadn’t left my comfort zone, I never would have experienced the profound joy that teaching has brought me, while it was scary at first, I’ve built up so much momentum that I just keep going (taking on more course work, attending educational sessions, and certificate courses when time permits).

It’s in these moments of discomfort and adaptation that we often discover our true potential and uncover hidden talents. Embracing change and willingly exploring the unknown can be the catalyst for personal and professional growth.
