I took the initial directions for this activity pretty literally— I chose Patch 25, copied and pasted a passage— or “nugget”— that jumped out at me, and then recorded myself reading it aloud. Then I thought of adding a picture— the one at the end of the video— and leaving it at that. This quickly became an exercise in grabbing a few photos which documented the main features of my home office. I uploaded these from my phone to Google drive, and then placed all the pictures & the audio clip into Camtasia and made the clip you have here and exported to YouTube. In my own small way, I’ve turned a reflection on “life writing as pedagogical strategy” into a piece of multi-media life writing, after a fashion. This can also be found contextualized within in my running Google doc for this module.
