Collaborative dining table
As a Teaching Assistant, I helped with an assessment overhaul for a course. All assessments were critically evaluated and most of them were changed to be able to adapt to the online environment. To do so we had multiple people on the “dining table”: An ex-student who had feedback on the assessments, an educational developer who would help suggest various EdTech options for the new assessments and provide ways of conducting formative assessment, an internal faculty member who would give their opinion of the relevance of the assessment to the course, an external faculty member (external to the department but internal to the University) who would provide their insight, an Accessibility Specialist who ensured the new format of the assessments followed accessibility guidelines, the course instructor and me.
