3 motivations:

  • Increased reflection on teaching and learning among colleagues.
    • A genuine belief in the importance of students understanding the importance of occupational health and safety. As people who may work in this field, and as workers themselves.
  • Stronger institutional values on teaching and learning.
    • A desire to improve my understanding and growth in the field, so I am continually learning and challenging myself. 
  • Renewed excitement about teaching and learning, and greater self-awareness.
    • A desire to contribute to the learning done at the college I work at. I attended the same college after university for a postgraduate certificate and now have the opportunity to teach in one as well. I took such tremendous value from my experience  and it led to an incredibly fulfilling career.  So I am very motivated to recreate that same value for the students in the classes I am part of.
