I used Text2MindMap from the Edtech Sandbox to create a mind map for a graduate course I teach. Organization is as follows:

  • blue nodes are weekly topics
  • green nodes are the weekly discussion sets
  • red nodes are the technical lab tasks
  • yellow nodes are larger course projects

I tried the Text2MindMap to see how it would organize content pasted from a syllabus. It was a bit easier than creating each individual node like in MindMup, but the customizability is limited; colours, arrows, and fonts are not changeable. The output can only be as an image file, which restricts accessibility compared to other tools that can export in more accessible formats.
