My PLN
This year has been a transformative period for expanding my Personal Learning Network (PLN).
The growth has been multidimensional, covering five key nodes that have significantly enriched my professional and personal development.
Since joining eCampus Ontario, my Personal Learning Network (PLN) has seen substantial growth and diversification. One of the most enriching aspects has been my ability to connect with various organizations such as Colleges, Universities, and Indigenous Institutes. Following what these institutions are doing in the educational field has broadened my perspective on educational practices and policies.
Secondly, I’ve invested time in professional development courses that range from a Brightspace training to a Reconciliation through Indigenous education course. Programs like Ontario Extend and BCcampus Accessibility workshops have not only improve my skills but also made me an advocate for Open Educational Resources (OER).
The third node comprises conferences I’ve attended or will attend this year, including EduTech East, Open Education Global, and TESS, among others. These events have been instrumental in networking with like-minded professionals and staying updated on the latest trends in education and technology.
Fourthly, I’ve joined LinkedIn groups that focus on various aspects of education and technology. Groups like “Teacher Training and Education,” “Ed-Tech: New and Emerging Trends in E-Learning,” and “Learning Industry” have been invaluable for daily insights and discussions that enrich my understanding of the field.
Lastly, the Réseau d’Enseignement Francophone à Distance has been a new addition, allowing me to explore educational practices in the Francophone community.
Great and busy year!
