This spring I worked on a team developing a new course for the Pre-Health Sciences Program. Our group primarily worked through shared documents and Microsoft Teams. In my image, I used multiple tables to represent the process of sharing through this PLN. In the early stages, Trish and I communicated in-person or over Teams/Email to share ideas. We then formally expanded the PLN to include other educators in the same field and program but from different campuses. I also included a higher table in my image to show how our Curriculum Development team expanded to include our Deans and Program Planning Development team.

We found Teams meetings exceptionally beneficial. Although annotating a live document was helpful, sometimes we misunderstood each other over text. It was more effective to chat it out and brainstorm/edit together. I know that I personally work best with groups that take the time to listen to each other but remain on task.

If given the same task again, I would love to see the group meet in person at least once to really build on ideas. Sometimes, Microsoft Teams can feel rushed or that members are easily distracted.
