Extend Activity #1: Consider This

For the course I am currently teaching, Project Management, I chose a photo that depicts a diverse group of individuals collaborating together in a work meeting. I would use this picture as a visual representation of the teamwork necessary to successfully complete a project, highlighting the importance of communication, culture, and diversity. I also chose this photo so that students have the opportunity to see themselves in the various materials used in the class, increasing the sense of belonging and their chances of successfully completing their programs.
I found this photo in the resource provided in the course: The Gender Spectrum Collection of creative commons stock photos. I was unaware of this resource and appreciate how easily it was to find photos that I could use in class depicting the gender spectrum we now see in the classroom. By searching for “work AND meetings”, I was able to quickly find this photo to use in my course, and will return to this course for future photo requirements to ensure I am including a wide range of diverse individuals in my teaching materials.
