When I often look for resources for my courses I usually am limited, I teach dental hygiene and often the resources I find are either for dentists or nurses but not specific to dental hygiene. I went into these OER’s looking for business plans for dental hygiene but came up empty handed, so I changed my search to just business plans, which worked of course. I did find a few things my students can use to get started and help them to better understand the structure of a business plan.

I did find the OER’s very interesting and something I will enjoy looking at for my own learning experiences and growth. For my students I think the resource has to be very specific and ensure it is going to be assessed otherwise it could be perceived as “extra work”. I found one video lecture about business plans from MIT but I know my students would not see value in it and I could only see a few minutes of the hour that would be relevant.  Here it is:    https://ocw.mit.edu/courses/sloan-school-of-management/15-s21-nuts-and-bolts-of-business-plans-january-iap-2014/lecture-videos/part-1-introduction-and-overview-of-business-plans/

However these two links I found would be better for their assignment and I could use this to develop or improve my rubric for marking purposes.

As a side note, earlier today I enrolled in a free course from Yale, and it appears there are many universities that offer these types of courses for audit. The one I enrolled in was The Science of Well-Being, offered at  https://www.coursera.org/. Seems like a great fit during this time in our lives!
