In the project management courses that I curate, it is important for the students to have ample opportunity to ‘practice’ what is being covered.  Without the practice, I find the students don’t think they will actually use the material when they go into the professional environment.  Here are some great OER’s that I found that provide me with good material to allow students to practice:

Project Management Case Studies

These case studies are published by the international regulatory group for project managers.  They are respected, and allow the students to easily use their new knowledge.   I can use one study throughout the course, and allow the students to work through our modules with this common scenario.

Project Templates for MS Project

When teaching the students how to actually use MS Project, I can take advantage of the many complex projects published by Microsoft.  This is valuable, in that I don’t want to teach the students how to type, but how to use the features.

Open Educational Resources

BC Open Campus has a number of books on Project Management that are available.  The one that I will use provides great chapter questions that reinforce the mathematical concepts covered.
