1. Five WIIFM from a student’s  perspective.

“What’s in it for me?” is a question that most student often ask themselves when they are learning in class. From the student’s perspective, these WIIFM aspects include:-

  • Relevance of the course content to the professional skills;
  • Value of the knowledge acquired in the industry;
  • Curiosity to learn new knowledge;
  • Professional Experiences and Encounters of the lecturers;
  •  Professional and Career Interests in he course

2. Using my discipline (Tourism Management), five strategies that i can design to use to motivate learners.

  • Providing foundational theoretical and empirical knowledge on the course/ lecture (To stimulate their conceptual and analytical skills as well as value of knowledge acquired in class);
  • Designing  Appropriate Applications  (Varied Participatory Methodologies and Skill-based Projects for students to stimulate their interests and creative skills as relevance of course content to skill development);
  • Connecting the applications, projects and knowledge acquired to real life case examples globally (Case studies to stimulate Professional Encounters);
  • Give Personal experiences and encounters in my career (To build more Professional interests on the course)
  • Asking the students to share their views and expectations (To build rapport and develop social and relational skills)
