As mentioned in the video, this speaks to my origins as a teacher— teaching English as Second Language (ESL) in South Korea. In this picture we see the results of hard, intentional effort by farmers to bring the crop from seed to fruition. The role of the educator could be fixed to the farmer, or to the biological entity of the plant— i.e., something akin to Rhizomatic Learning. To me, the abundance of metaphor evoked in this image is in itself metaphorical for learning. Navigating various ways of representing and sharing knowledge is part and parcel of being a 21st Century educator. Here is a link to the Google doc where I am collecting my work for this module.
