Experiential Learning
This activity took me longer than it should have as once I found one thing, it let me to another and so on. It is so easy to go down the rabbit hole.
As I mentioned before, I am trying to include Indigenous teaching styles into my weekly class so two of the three links are related to Indigenous learning styles, although, my overall topic is Experiential Learning
The first link is a picture of people sitting in a circle. I plan to incorporate a “sharing circle” in my class this fall. Students will be in small groups and discuss their experiences at their placements.
The second link I found very interesting. It is actually a website that has all kinds of submissions based on Indigenous learning and all content is considered as open resources. Particularly, there is a First Nations Experiential Learning Cycle diagram and explanation that I will share with my class.
Lastly, I found a Ted Talk that discusses Experiential Learning for Post Secondary Students. This will be help to support what I discuss in class about the value of Experiential Learning in 2021.
