Conestoga College offers a Certificate in Post-Secondary Teaching to its internal faculty, as well as external educators. Managed by the Teaching and Learning department, the program team comprises a Chair, a Co-ordinator, six Teaching and Learning Consultants, and an Educational Technology Officer.

Recently, we’ve offered an individual micro-credential, from which faculty can transfer credits, on “Teaching Synchronously and Asynchronously.” In these five courses, faculty would learn to teach using various modalities – including online, remotely (via Zoom as the presentation tool), fully online and hybrid. In our discussions, we’ve presented research on best practices when teaching using these modalities, and developed ideas on what faculty could learn. The Educational Technology Officer took a leadership role in these discussions, while the Teaching and Learning Consultants suggested evaluations for faculty to complete, so they can achieve course and micro-credential learning outcomes.
