3 Keys to SOTL
This seemed natural to me. I’ve spent my career always checking the results of what I’ve done and seeing if there was a way to improve. I like how this has been described and is very similar to the Plan/Do/Check/Act process, where it is very important to focus on checking the results and adjusting.
The 3 keys of SOTL
- Treat teaching scientifically, using experimental modes systematically.
- Examine results to close the loop.
- Focus on whether the students are learning and improve your skills.
This is very similar to the plan/do/check/act process. The check and act are incredibly important, and reflecting on your teaching is very important. Is the effort having the desired outcome
