The metaphor the best fits my role as teacher is “tour guide”. I use my experience to “show the way” for others. On my teaching profile I also post that my role is to “pay it forward”. I think back to the teachers that taught me, the effort they put into teaching me, and the end result – a long career in my field of study; then I think that I now have the opportunity to continue the cycle.
