I chose this image to support my ‘Misunderstood’ concept, which is about reflective learning.

While I was searching for an image, I had the thought of a lake or body of water cross my mind, so I decided to use Pixabay (which I’ve used in the past) to find an open source image. I searched the term ‘reflection’ and found the image ‘Lake” (above) on my first search, which got me thinking even more.

The water rippling gives the impression of change, which really ties in well with reflection, and the rocks and pebbles can represent things that might be getting in the way of understanding the concept, and what you drop in the water (creating the ripple effect) can influence how far the ripple travels. If it is a small pebble, it won’t go very far. But a larger pebble or rock will go further, even beyond the rocks that are sticking out of the water.

The image ties in with my analogy, which is how we describe our favourite book, show, or movie. Depending on how much detail and passion we give it (dropping the pebble) will impact how we entice the person we’re describing it to, to watch or read our recommendation.

The image is of nature, so there is no diversity or inclusion specifically present, however the analogy is inclusive and adaptable to include different abilities, media (book, movie, show, story, etc.) and how a person shares this with someone else.
