The goal was to find a picture that could be used for discussion with students to help them visually understand costing classifications. Visually, what is a direct cost and indirect cost? What is a direct material cost, what is labour, and what is overhead? This makes this concept more real than just reading them in a textbook and is more in line with what you need to do in the real world to figure this out.
I chose this particular picture because it is an F-35. You tend to remember the bizarre and unusual rather than the ordinary.
