In my clinical microbiology class, I’m using Slido  as a tool for fostering active engagement and interaction among students in an online setting. With Slido, students can ask questions, participate in polls, and share feedback in real-time, which keeps them engaged and helps me clarify any doubts immediately. The anonymity feature encourages more students to participate by allowing them to ask questions or provide feedback without feeling self-conscious. Polls are useful for assessing students’ understanding of key concepts and gathering their opinions on various topics, enabling me to tailor my teaching accordingly.

To implement Slido effectively, I started by understanding my students’ needs and preferences, considering factors like their tech proficiency and engagement levels in an online environment. Then, I brainstormed ways to use Slido’s features to address these challenges, creating a prototype of how I’ll incorporate it into my lessons. I intend to introduce Slido to my students at the beginning of the semester, providing clear instructions on its usage, and integrating Slido activities into my lesson plans. Throughout the semester, I monitor student participation and feedback to continuously refine my use of Slido and enhance the learning experience.
