Cornell Notes: Beware of Online
I decided to watch the TED Talk, Beware of Online “Filter Bubbles”, by Eli Pariser. This is a video that I show in my course, Virtual Communications. I have found in the past that even with guiding questions during the video, some students have difficulty retaining this information. The Cornell Notes method seems to be a good way to highlight keywords that reflect the thesis of Pariser’s talk, specifically, redefining the way information is consumed online to be more ethical/balanced, responsible, and transparent – ideas he refers to several times during his talk.
