I had never heard of Cornell notes before this activity.  I like the fact that while it is a quick way to jot down notes and key points, the layout of the page forces you to process, reorganize, and rewrite your notes on a single sheet.  I believe there is a tremendous value in this method.  By the time I was finished the summary, I had mostly committed everything I had written down to memory.
