What is CountIf? How do you even explain this to students???

Lets looks at a drawer of fruit. Within the drawer are oranges, apples and grapes. If you were to make your grocery list you would first need to determine what you have in the drawer. You would go to the drawer and tell yourself “Lets count just the grapes, then grapes and apples”.  How many of each do I have? This is CountIF.
