I put the Scholar module aside for awhile and recently returned to it. My research question had evolved. I’ve found that participation has naturally improved as rapport has developed and students become more comfortable with small group work in class.

What I’ve now become more curious about is how to help students become familiar and comfortable with student-centred learning. I want to know more specifically if the LEE model (Learn, Expand, Engage) helps students become gradually exposed to a student-centred style of learning (Glance, Rhinehart, & Brown, 2018). I’m wondering if using the LEE model will help students in learning helping related skills in the Community and Health Services Navigation Program. Until recently, there wasn’t a framework to help with the implementation of the model (Glance et al., 2018). The Learn, Expand, Engage (LEE) model provides a structured framework to aid with implementation of student-centred learning (Glance et al., 2018). Sounds like a perfect SoTL opportunity!
