UDL has been shown to support student learning by removing barriers. By offering multiple options (in terms format) for students to demonstrate their learning (essay, audio/video, applied project). Previously, student choice was limited to selecting a topic for their essay. Giving options for assessment format of students’ demonstration of knowledge goes a step beyond that.
