I worked at the college as a professional tutor for almost a decade while also working as a science professor in various programs. During COVID-19, when everything moved into an online format, transitioning tutoring to an online format was a challenge. I worked with my team to develop an online tri-campus tutoring format so we could assist our students, who were also struggling during this transition, especially as the semester neared its end with all projects, assignments, lab reports, and final exams due. With the help of my campus coordinator, tri-campus coordinator, student services manager, student services director academic dean, and other tutors, we were able to develop a plan to help students across all three campuses during the day and night, including weekends. Our plan was highly successful, leading to a significant boost in academic excellence.

As a current professor and a former tutor, I can understand my students’ concerns and assist them according to their needs. This project truly helped me prepare my teaching and learning plans to enhance student learning.
