Empathy Map
This was a valuable exercise to guide self-reflection on teaching practice. It is important to always consider the perspective of the learner, which is easy to lose site of as I get caught up in the planning for learning and adapting technology. I am not teaching a course at this time, which made the collection of feedback difficult for this exercise. As a result, I used various comments from students in previous semester, but not necessarily specific to a course. This exercise has encouraged me to create a number of questions that I will use in polls when I begin teaching in the fall, as I see the value in utilizing this format so that I can gain an understanding on how the students are reacting to the course and how effectively the learning activities are leading to the achievement of the course learning outcomes.
