Empathy map
Given the pandemic, empathy was critical for all to survive the academic year in remote learning mode. Since it is my first pandemic, and remote teaching or any online teaching, I asked for feedback. As predicted, polls and surveys were palatable means of feedback to the students, the end of class “any questions? Comments? Suggestions?” was not. First term I took a leap (designed into a space I had no idea where it would lead), however in second term, I learned a lot and really paid close attention to where students where at. They didn’t have a lot of excess anything: energy, focus, money, time. Empathetic design for the win in term two!
