Empathy Map: Utilizing Student Feedback Surveys
I have compiled an empathy map for the courses I have taught this past year, utilizing the student feedback surveys (gulp!) to help guide my development for this upcoming Fall term. While SFS’s can tend to highlight the impossible-to-please and students with accountability issues (!) there are often little gems that I have tried to pick out to reflect on for future cohorts. Particularly as we are heading into a fully-online term in the Fall, I wanted to re-visit some of these ‘gems’ as they may be even more exacerbated by the online learning environment.
For me, this was definitely a helpful visual reflection, as I am actively working on addressing the concerns/thoughts/feelings of the students to improve the overall learning experience going forward.
