Activity two- Motivations to do SoTL-

  • Improved outcomes and assessment scores- This is number one for me personally. Learning is the ultimate measure of teaching.
  • Stronger institutional values on teaching and learning- SoTL implies clear intent to champion values focused on student learning and evidence based teaching practices.
  • Renewed excitement about teaching and learning, and greater self-awareness.- I came into teaching fairly recently, and I am continually looking to improve what I do and I feel SoTL can provide insights needed to improve.
