Extend Activity #7: Your Metaphor
My approach to teaching resembles the Travel Guide – assisting people along the path of learning. As a faculty member, I feel my role is to help mentor the students on their pathway through life. Many times, being a teacher also includes being the one who helps direct students through life as well as through the course. You try to guide them along an efficient pathway but can only encourage them to keep up pace, so you ensure you are also there to help them out of any dead ends they encounter. This photo is a great visual representation of this journey we take as teachers, and of my teaching approach as a travel guide.
